Trade Union Week

  • 20 Mar 2025

28 April - 2 May is Ireland's trade union week, focused on building a greater movement and encouraging workers to join a union.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has launched its annual campaign, urging us all to play our part to encourage colleagues to join unions during 28 April - 2 May. As the week falls soon after the NUJ's Delegate Meeting, this is a great opportunity to share with colleagues how they can become involved with the union's democratic structures once a member.

There are many other reasons to join the union, including to gain access to our year-round events. Last year, the union's Ireland student seminar provided an important opportunity for existing student members and potential new members to the NUJ, to network with established journalists.

As branches and chapels prepare for Trade Union week, our reasons to join page provides detail on the union's offering. Access the NUJ's recruitment resources and contact the union's campaigns team at [email protected] if you need further resources.
