#ThankAWorker: this May Day let's give thanks to the key workers
This May Day, the TUC is asking trade unionists to show their appreciation for all those key workers who are looking after us in these difficult times.
This May Day, the TUC is asking trade unionists to show their appreciation for all those key workers who are looking after us in these difficult times.
The usual May Day parades are not possible this year, but it's more important than ever to mark the contribution that workers make every day.
This pandemic has shown us how much we owe frontline workers. In health, in care and in all our vital services. They are the best of us and we say thank you.
What you can do today
- Post a short video on social media thanking a worker who's made a difference to you.
- Nominate three of your family members or friends to also thank a worker in their own video.
- Tag them in your post and use hashtags #mayday and #ThankAWorker.
You could choose your postie, shop worker, someone in the NHS, delivery driver, food worker or any other frontline worker. The TUC website has more information and you can download images to put on your feed.
