Disability History Month
Meet the NUJ’s Disabled Members' Council and take part in a host of TUC webinars to discuss the key workplace issues affecting disabled workers.
Meet the NUJ Disabled Members' Council: this informal online drop-in meeting on Saturday 4 December from 11am to 1pm is for disabled members to meet their representatives on the Disabled Members’ Council (DMC) and get to know about the work they do. The council wants to hear about your concerns and about the issues you may be experiencing as disabled journalists and to hear about experiences of good practice in the workplace. Our hope is to build a supportive network for disabled journalists so that we can work together to challenge discrimination and ensure that your employment rights are enforced in the workplace. So, grab a coffee and a cake and join in the conversation. The DMC would love to meet you. Please register your interest by e-mailing Jane Kennedy at [email protected] and do let us know of access support you may need.
This year, the TUC will focus on disabled workers equality as a collective trade union issue. It is hosting three, free webinars during the month looking at the key workplace issues affecting disabled workers. Book your place.
