Join us online at our DM talk-in from 5-7pm on 27 April to hear from Alison Millar, director of a new documentary about the life of journalist Lyra McKee, killed in 2019.
‘Lyra’ is narrated by McKee and includes never before heard recordings she made about herself and her work, and thoughts on Northern Ireland. The documentary also includes moving interviews with her family and partner, friends and work colleagues.
Held on the eve of International Workers’ Memorial Day as journalists continue to face threats to their safety, Séamus Dooley, NUJ assistant general secretary, will interview Alison prior to the film screening, exploring more about the creation of the moving documentary.
