Ethics in journalism: a spotlight on the NUJ Code of Conduct

How the code can be used as a guide when reporting sensitive issues including accuracy, privacy and intrusion into grief.

The NUJ's Ethics council invites you to a webinar exploring the union's Code of Conduct, and how every journalist can ensure adherence on often sensitive issues including accuracy, privacy and intrusion into grief.

Join us online on 21 November at 5.30-6.30pm in the event chaired by Professor Chris Frost, chair of the union’s Ethics council.

Hear from speakers including Tim Dawson, NUJ NEC member on the importance of the code, and Mandy Garner, on the subsequent media coverage of her daughter's death.

Whether setting out rules for journalists on the protection of sources, defending media freedom or avoiding plagiarism, the code outlines the main principles of UK and Irish journalism.

What is ethical journalism? Share your views in our Q&A session on the evening. Tickets are free and all NUJ members are welcome to attend.
